1903年，怀特兄弟发明飞机，12秒的记录掀开人类历史新的篇章。在随后短短的十几年内，飞机行业迅速发展，飞行记录不断被刷新。1914年，第一次世界战争爆发，在此之前部分国家虽已组建空军，而在一战中飞机却较少使用。在陆军之上的年代里，尚处在初生阶段的飞机功效甚微。 一战结束，飞机业又迎来新的黄金时期，技术日新月异，民用军用都得到极大发展。转眼来到1939年，战争阴影再次笼罩世界。而在此时，飞机已经成为不可或缺的重要作战工具。 本片根据俄国人亚历山大•塞维尔斯基的同名著作改编。并于2005年荣获安妮奖特别成就奖。

This film is essentially a propaganda film selling Major Alexander de Seversky's theories about the practical uses of long range strategic bombing. Using a combination of animation humorously telling about the development of air warfare, the film switches to the Major illustrating his ideas could win the war for the allies.
