Plot Summary:Kathleen Petersen (25) is a brilliant scientist being groomed by her father to take over The Petersen Institute, one of Europe's most prestigious science organizations. The Institute's mission is to further scientific discovery for the advancement of mankind on Earth and in Space. Kathleen is being groomed to take over and lead the institute on its noble mission by her father, Gustav Petersen (55). But Gustav is a highly secretive, driven man who is keeping a secret from the rest of the world: In the sixties, he and his wife (also a scientist) discovered fragments of a 'communication signal' within subatomic particles that seems to be some kind of warning to other planets with life on them. Kathleen's mother dedicated the rest of her life to working on deciphering the meaning of the coded message, and it came at a great consequence, leading to a mental breakdown and eventually to her death.
