Zhu Liye is disappointed with her son, Zhanpeng when he fails to get a place in a reputable school. Bao Zhongnan runs a rice dumpling shop and is so short-handed that his wife, A Jiao, and sons Jinlu and Jinfu have to help out. He has a daughter Jinlian who is a typical housewife. Jinlian's husband Zhongxian is an interior designer who has more experience than qualifications. Jinfu's girlfriend Jessica strives to succeed while he indulges in comics.
