1992年英国和南非合拍的犯罪恐怖电影。温蒂离开自己的丈夫，独自一人来到非洲荒郊的野林，偶遇一名徒步旅行者罗伯特。此人是一位在杀人前拍摄下自己罪行的流窜作案连环凶手，温蒂根本没有意识到她已经身陷险境，直到一位警探告诉她她的同伴是比凶手更为凶残的怪物，它是偷走被害人灵魂的恶魔，很快警探和温蒂成为了恶魔的目标。A shape shifter (Burke) comes from the desert in search of victims, a spirit the locals call "The Dust Devil". He prays on the lonely and the unloved, those who have already lost everything but life itself. Wendy (Field) has broken up with her husband and wanders aimlessly in her car. She picks up a stranger and begins having misgivings about picking him up when strange things begin to occur. Meanwhile a local police officer (Mokae) tracks the killer. Aided by a shaman's admonishments about witchcraft he sets off to try and stop the beast before it can complete its grisly task.
