He just wants to kiss, and that's what he wants. He just want a lover. And if you are gonna stand in his way, he'll get that lover and you're dead. Simple is that. It's looks like...actually Jeff something looks at this as a love story. Yes, it's described as a tragedy. But you know why these any good men going down, or men with a good soul going down. It's a tragedy. But it's actually...it's kinda nice if you ask him that he wholly wants this love from his wife. （最后实在是听不清楚了，澳洲音再加上本人又说得有点模糊……）
而原著给人的感觉更注重描绘无止境的贪欲对人的控制，以及人对本自罪恶的恐惧。
剧本也没有照抄原著，而是做了许多巧妙的更改“trimmed to stop the action rolling”，少了许多英式的honor，多了许多现代感。只是某些配角（如Malcom）的台词念得稍显生硬。
